One of my favorite events of the year is the Central Arkansas Library System Used Book Sale with $1 paperbacks and $2 hardbacks! It's a great chance to get some new books for yourself or your kids at a fantastic price while helping out the library. And as a special treat, educators (with a valid ID) will get an extra 25% off of those prices! With the main library closed for remodeling, the CALS Summer Used Book Sale will take place at the Port Industrial Hub from July 11th through July 13th.
The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) has announced the details for the summer CALS Used Book Sale. The Used Book Sale will take place July 11 – 13 at the Port Industrial Hub, 7773 Sloane Dr.
Books at the CALS Used Book Sale are priced at $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks. During the summer sale, educators (with a valid ID) will receive an additional 25% off those prices.
Used Book Sale hours are 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 13. Former Friends of CALS members and donors can shop early Thursday, July 11, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
"The CALS Used Book Sale continues to be one of our most popular programs as it offers a service to the community and provides funds that help support other library programs," Lily Kauffman, CALS Development Specialist said. "We've enjoyed seeing the support and enthusiasm for the sale continue at our new location."
Revenue generated will go to the CALS Foundation to support the Six Bridges Book Festival, Summer @ CALS, book club kits, grants to all CALS library branches, and other library programs (including Be Mighty, Count Up, the Encyclopedia of Arkansas, and others).
