The remnants of Hurricane Nate are soaking the East Coast today after it caused some flooding and power outages to parts of the Gulf Coast but spared it the kind of damage delivered by previous hurricanes.
Nate made landfall in Mississippi Sunday as a Category-1 hurricane and quickly lost strength, downgrading it to a tropical depression. 100,000 homes and businesses lost power, but most were restored within 24 hours. There were no reports of any storm-related deaths or injuries and no widespread damage. (TIME)
