A Northeast Texas motorcycle club made an important donation recently when they delivered 83 brand-new fans to senior citizens.
For the third year in a row, the Showstoppers motorcycle club made it a point to help the elderly stay cool during the hot summer months by dropping off fans to the Area Agency on Aging in Texarkana, Texas.
The bikers make their yearly gift because they know the elderly are more likely to deal with heat-related illnesses and can easily become dehydrated. So, they bring fans – and every year, the donation gets larger.
Michael George, the president of the Showstoppers, said, "The most people that need help in our community are the kids and the elderly. This is just what we do and we enjoy it and we'll continue to do it as long as we can." (KTAL-TV)
