Jury selection in Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trial began today (Monday) in Pittsburgh.
The 12 jurors and six alternates will be sequestered for the trial, which is set to start June 5th in suburban Philadelphia. Lawyers expect to have a jury in place this week.
Cosby's defense lawyer Brian McMonagle said, “He’s holding up fine, he’s looking forward to it ... and we’re looking forward to getting a trial.”
The comedian is accused of sexually assaulting Andrea Constand after allegedly giving her three blue pills at his Pennsylvania mansion in 2004.
Cosby has said he will not testify in his own defense. More than 50 other women who have accused the TV legend of assault. He says racism and revenge have motivated the “nefarious” allegations against him. (NY Daily News)
