In Kansas, high school senior Shaedon Wedel wanted to make prom as special as possible for his best friend's sister, Carlie Wittman, who has Down syndrome. So he asked her out with a personalized shirt with a Doritos logo.
His shirt read, "I know I’m NACHO typical Dorito but … I’m going to be cheesy and ask: "Will you go to prom with me?”
Video of the prom-posal went viral. An elderly couple in Wisconsin saw it – and wanted to make this special prom even better.
So, Norma and Floyd Grode arranged to send Carlie a "Cinderella" type gown, along with matching jewelry, all for her special night.
Norma and Floyd were inspired to help Carlie because she reminded the couple of their daughter, Cathy, who has cerebral palsy.
They were able to make the announcement over a video chat, and able to see Carlie’s delight upon hearing the news.
