The game was a battle to the end with Kentucky's Malik Monk tying the game with 7.2 seconds left with a deep three-pointer. Then reserve forward Luke Maye became the hero, hitting a last second shot to give the Tar Heels the win over the Wildcats.
Gonzaga earned its ticket by trouncing Xavier 83-59 on Saturday. The Bulldogs knocked down eight three-pointers in the first half for a 10-point lead. They continued their torrent of threes in the second half to score its first ever Final Four appearance. Nigel Williams-Goss led the way with hitting four-of-seven three-pointers, ending up with 23 points.
South Carolina advanced with a 77-70 win over Florida on Sunday. The Gators were up by seven points at halftime thanks to seven three-pointers in the first half, but the Gamecocks got their game on in the second half, shutting down the Gators' three-point attack to come back. Sindarius Thornwell led the way, scoring 10 or his game-leading 26 points in the last seven minutes of the game.
Oregon made the Final Four for the first time since 1939 with a 74-60 victory over Kansas on Saturday. The Ducks dominated, leading the game for all but 30 seconds.
