A New York senior who was nursing a grudge against a hospital about the care he was receiving decided to do something about it -- by checking himself out...and then stealing an ambulance to bolt the scene.
Donald Winkler was disgruntled about the staff at Nassau University Medical Center, and, instead of writing a negative Yelp review, he walked out -- and hopped into the driver's seat of an emergency vehicle that was idling with the keys in the ignition. Cops used the vehicle's GPS to track it, and found Winkler hanging out at a nearby 7-Eleven.
The 83-year-old was in bad physical shape when officers showed up at the convenience store, so he was transported back to the same hospital -- where he confessed to the crime. (News 12)
