Last weekend, 78-year-old Ron Hill of England stepped outside to go for his daily run. Except, he wasn’t feeling so hot, so he decided to skip it.
This was the first day that Ron didn’t go for a run in 19,032 days. That’s more than 52 years.
Ron, who happens to be a former Olympic athlete, started his streak in December of 1964. And, over the last 52 years, he kept running every day, despite 10 broken bones and 2 knee surgeries.
Here’s the kicker … During his streak, he averaged running 11.2 miles per day, including 115 marathons.
Now the streak has ended, due to heart complications. (Sydney Morning Herald)
