Gabby Barrett spotlighted her husband and two young children in the “Glory Days” music video, sharing an intimate glimpse of her life at home with the family. The autobiographical project features Barrett and husband Cade Foehner playing with the kids on a picnic blanket, baking in the kitchen together and other heartwarming memories together.

“What you see literally are my ‘Glory Days’ right now,” Barrett told CMT, which recently premiered the video. “It’s sitting on the porch and reading the Bible with my husband or rocking my baby to sleep. This video perfectly brings the lyrics to life.”

Barrett co-produced the Alexa Campbell-directed video with Taylor Vermillion. She wrote the lyrics with Emily WeisbandSeth Mosley, and James McNair, and co-produced the single with Ross Copperman, reads a press release issued Wednesday (July 5). “Glory Days” marks the beginning of Barrett’s next chapter in her career as she readies the release of her highly-anticipated sophomore album, following Goldmine in 2020.

Barrett’s lyrics describe special memories with her husband, fellow American Idol alum Foehner, and the couple’s two young children, Baylah May, who turned 2 in January, and Augustine Booneborn in October 2022. She sings on the track: “This is as good as it gets, I don't know what I would change/ I love this life that we live, I love that smile on your face/ No, we ain't gotta look back at all those pictures in frames/ And wish it'd all stay the same/ ‘Cause right here, right now I say, ‘These are the glory days’”

“This song means so much to me and is about all the little things that make my life so full,” Barrett said in a statement. “These are my ‘Glory Days’ and I’m so excited to introduce my sophomore album with it.”
