Maren Morris is marking the best full-circle moment as she gets ready to play the final show of her “Humble Quest Tour,” at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
“POV: you drove circles around this town so you could one day go from playing honky tonks to headlining Bridgestone Arena and that day is today 😭,” Morris shared on TikTok, realizing how far she’s come in her career as she reflected on her Nashville beginnings. She added in her caption that she’s “definitely crying on stage tonight 🥺”
Morris released her autobiographical song, “Circles Around This Town,” earlier this year, including it on her Humble Quest album. The song takes a lot back at Morris’ journey to Music City and her efforts to build her career as a singer-songwriter. It includes nods to two of her early smash-hits, “80s Mercedes” and “My Church,” which were both included on her 2016 album, HERO.
“I think if you have a dream and you’re trying to make it happen, that target is always moving,’ Morris told iHeartCountry, in part, about making her “trip down memory lane” an “inspiring” anthem for other artists. “Even if you feel like you’ve achieved it, it keeps moving elsewhere. I think that it’s always about... ‘don’t give up your daydream, don’t stop chasing down your life dream.’ I think when you start realizing that, ‘oh, I’ve got this all made,’ you should probably retire.”
