Zac Brown Band kicked off the weekend with the release of their 21-track deluxe album, expanding on last yearâs highly-successful project with star-studded collaborations. The eight-member band teamed up with other artists â including Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson, Ingrid Andress, Jamey Johnson and Marcus King â for powerful, reimagined versions of tracks that fans will undoubtedly recognize from The Comeback.
The Comeback debuted last year, aiming to celebrated âour collective resilience as a community,â frontman Zac Brown said in a statement at the time. âThis music is about standing together and rediscovering our roots and what makes us human. We feel incredibly blessed to be back out on the road again, sharing these new songs with our fans. The only good thing about getting knocked down is The Comeback when it comes back around.â
The 15-track project was packed with fan-favorite hits like âSlow Burn,â âOut In The Middle,â âWild Palomino,â âSame Boatâ and others. Each band member managed to blend their own âtwistâ into the album.
Drummer Chris Fryar explained to iHeartRadio at the time that thatâs because, during the pandemic, âweâre not hanging out all the time and listening to the same stuff, everyoneâs listening preferences had sort of gone the way they were gonna go. Everyone had a new little twist to their musical personality, which was really cool to be able to try to incorporate all of that into the mix.â Bass player Matt Mangano added that recording The Comeback was kind of likeâŠnot seeing a family member for a long time and then you get together and itâs like you never missed a beat.â
Brown marked The Comebackâs release with an exclusive iHeart Radio Album Release Party, where he called the album, âthe best album that Iâve ever made, start to finish. All the guys, everybody on the team just killed it.â
