Ohio Teen Arrested by FBI After Allegedly Making Online Threats

An Ohio teenager who was arrested on federal charges of threatening to assault a federal law enforcement officer was found with multiple assault-style rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition this week, authorities said.

Justin Olsen, 18, was arrested after allegedly making multiple online threats against the federal government and Planned Parenthood locations. When agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the home where he was living in Boardman, Ohio, on Aug. 7, authorities recovered 15 rifles, 10 semi-automatic pistols, and around 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

While posting under the name, "ArmyOfChrist," Olsen expressed his support for mass shootings and targeting Planned Parenthood locations, according to the complaint written by FBI Special Agent Themistocles Tsarnas and obtained by NBC News.

FBI agents first stumbled across Olsen's posting while working in a chat room called "iFunny" in which the user, ArmyOfChrist, was spotted making threatening comments. "ArmyOfChrist" expressed support for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing as well as the shootings of ATF agents during the siege at the Branch Davidians compound in Waco, Texas, in 1993.

The siege on the Branch Davidian religious sect was a 51-day-long confrontation by state and federal authorities. An armed assault on the compound resulted in four government agents being shot and killed by members of the sect. During the attack, a fire broke out, killing 76 members of the Branch Davidians.

"Hell even the Oklahoma City bombing shows that armed resistance is a viable method of political change. There is no legal solution," ArmyofChrist wrote. "In conclusion, shoot every federal agent on sight."

Olsen reportedly admitted to federal agents to making the comments online, but his postings were "only a joke."

A computer, iPad and an iPhone were confiscated by agents, as well as the ammunition, camouflage clothing, camouflaged backpacks, as well as a large gun vault found in Olsen's residence. The weapons and various types of ammunition were also taken by federal agents as well.
