Dolly Parton was caught in the middle of the night's most anti-Trump speech at last night's (Sunday) Emmy Awards.
Dolly stood between her 9 to 5 co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin to present the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Mini-Series, but not before Jane and Lily had their say about the President. Jane said, "In that movie, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot." Lilly followed, "And in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot."
Dolly quickly replied, "I think Lily was talking about Mr. Hart (the villain in the movie). He's still up to his no good stuff, right? How about a shout out for Dabney Coleman out there. I'm just here to have a good time tonight."
Dolly's fans weren't pleased to see their star a part of such a political moment and they let her know via social media. One fan wrote,"You stood up there while those two ran their mouths. You are just as bad." (Tennessean)
